Naomi's Notes - 12/17/06
For several months, all of our church musicians have been diligently preparing music for our Thanksgiving and Advent services. Please express appreciation to them for their extra efforts during the crunch of the holiday season.
Also, make plans to attend our "Lessons and Carols" Service this Sunday, December 17, at 6:00 p.m. You'll be glad you did! The service features our Sanctuary Choir accompanied by a string quartet, with Sara League and Janie Forman playing piano and flute. Also, our Music Makers and Young Musicians choirs will be singing "Away in a Manager."
This service is patterned after "A Service of Lessons and Carols," which has been observed at King's College, Cambridge, England, every Christmas Eve since 1918. It promises to be a simple, yet elegant service, featuring scripture narrations and traditional carols. Come enjoy the music, and let the celebration of Christ's birth fill your heart with joy.
