Child enjoying Immanuel's nursery

Immanuel provides child care during both Sunday morning and Wednesday night activities.

Children

At Immanuel Baptist Church, we believe that children should be

  • seen…
  • heard…
  • celebrated
  • and serve!

We believe that children are a valued and vital part of our church family and we are intentional about involving children in all areas of worship, ministry, and fellowship.

Our nursery is staffed by two trained childcare workers who greet our babies and toddlers with genuine warmth and tenderness. Extra care and attention is given to creating a happy and safe area and parents are provided with pagers to assure them of their child’s well being during the time they are with us.

Children enjoy active participation in Bible Study each Sunday morning. Teachers engage boys and girls on a personal level and make every effort to insure each child knows he or she is special to God and our church family.

Children’s Chapel for 1st – 3rd graders allows boys and girls to take the roles of worship leaders by reading Bible verses and litanies, passing the offering plate, leading in prayer. Children hear age-appropriate messages and interact with Ms. Lisa as they learn about God’s plan for their life and God’s love for them.

Wednesday night activities for children begin at 5:30 with Rainbow Ringers, our children’s handbell choir. Boys and girls enjoy fellowship with their parents and other church families during our fellowship meals at 6:00. Age-graded children’s choirs and M.I.A. (Ministers In Action) complete the night with music and mission opportunities.

A variety of special events and activities for children and their families are scheduled throughout the year: Celebrate the Child Day, Daddy-Daughter Date Night, Kids’ Café, Read-a-Rama, Clue Hunt, and a Birthday Party for Jesus, just to name a few. In addition to our annual Vacation Bible School, children have opportunities to attend Musical Day Camp and a week-long church camp.

We are committed to providing opportunities where children can “experience and express God’s unconditional love” both in church, in Frankfort, and in God’s world.
