Youth

In the process of learning to follow Christ, the youth form valuable friendships which sometimes extend past church, and last long into adulthood.

Youth Ministry

We have a Sunday School class for middle school students (grades 7 and 8) and a class for high school students (grades 9 -12) that meets from 9:15 to 10:15 on Sunday mornings. The curriculum is age appropriate.

On Wednesday Nights youth activities begin at 6:30 after the Church Fellowship Meal. Presently this involves a Bible study/discussion/devotion followed by a group recreational or fun activity.

We are a mission oriented church and youth regularly participate in church wide mission projects and ministries. Youth have accompanied adults on mission trips (i.e. helping at a Detroit Community Center in their summer program) and are also involved in local ministries such as visiting the nursing home, helping at the soup kitchen, etc.

Upcoming Youth Events

The youth participate in two retreats/camps during the year: A week long summer camp as well as a winter retreat in January or February. The camps and retreats have been held in various places. Last year the youth went to North Carolina for the summer camp and Lake Cumberland for the winter retreat.

Monthly fellowship activities are planned around a variety of activities such as laser tag, Kings Island trip, canoe trips, parties, skiing, lock-ins, etc.

The Youth Ministry exists to help youth develop a growing relationship with God through their discipleship to Jesus Christ engaging them in service to Christ’s cause in the world.
